Jeder Track ein Schöpfungsakt: Celibidaches Münchner Jahre auf 49 CDs Als der Dirigent Sergiu Celebidache im August 1996 starb, verlor die Welt nicht nur einen der größten Musiker des 20. Jahrhunderts, sondern auch einen der eigenwilligsten. »Celi«, wie ihn Freunde und Fans noch immer nennen, boykottierte die Schallplatte. Musik war für ihn ein unwiederholbares Erlebnis, an dessen Einmaligkeit Musiker und Zuhörer im Konzertsaal gleichermaßen teilhaben sollten. Umso bedeutender sind die Livemitschnitte, die der Maestro genehmigte. Schon ein Jahr nach seinem Tod begann unter dem alten EMI-Label eine unvergleichliche Edition der Dokumente zu erscheinen, die Celibidache mit den Münchner Philharmonikern hinterließ. Nun erscheint dieses Vermächtnis in der Box The Munich Years auf 49 CDs. Die Einspielungen bieten Zyklen, die der Dirigent niemals im Studio produziert hätte: So acht Beethoven-Sinfonien, sieben Sinfonien von Anton Bruckner, die kompletten Sinfonien von Johannes Brahms, außerdem zentrale Werke von Schubert, Tschaikowsky, Berlioz oder Debussy. Für ihn stand das Erleben des »Werdens von Musik« an erster Stelle. Zu einem einzigartigen Perfektionismus kam eine völlige Ablehnung von kommerzieller Oberflächlichkeit: »Ich gebe keine Interviews, ich mache keine Schallplatten«. Die Dokumente der Münchner Jahre gehören zu den wenigen, die ausdrücklich als autorisiert gelten dürfen. Ein besonderes Dokument ist zudem eine seltene und lange nicht verfügbare Studioaufnahme mit den Berliner Philharmonikern, die hier als Bonus enthalten ist.
